WAYNE JOHN: (1907-1979) American actor, Academy Award winner. T.L.S., Duke, one page, 4to, Hollywood, California, 9th April 1954, to Jimmy Starr of the Los Angeles Herald-Express, on the printed stationery of Wayne-Fellows Productions Inc. Wayne asks if Starr has had chance to read The High and The Mighty which he sent him some time ago and adds 'Thought you might like to see the prototypes that we chose to play the characters in the picture.' continuing 'We're really proud of the picture and are sure you will enjoy it. It should be released sometime in July.' VG
The High and The Mighty (1954) starred John Wayne in the role of Dan Roman. The film won one Academy Award.
