LANG FRITZ: (1890-1976) - LANG FRITZ: (1890-1976) Austro-Hungarian born film director whose works include the ground-breaking futuristic Metropolis (1927) and the influential film noir precursor M (1931). An excellent vintage signed 8 x 10 photograph of the dapper Lang, wearing a monocle, seated in a half-length pose at his desk, with several rows of full bookshelves in the background. Signed ( 'Fritz Lang' ) in bold blue fountain pen ink to a clear area of the image and dated New York, 11 th February 1937 in his hand. An ink annotation to the verso in the hand of a collector indicates that Lang signed the photograph whilst staying at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel. A few corner creases, otherwise VG
