WILDER THORNTON: (1897-1975) American playwright and novelist. A.L.S., Thornton Wilder, one page, 8vo, Edgartown, Massachusetts, 8th August 1975, to Charles A. Kennedy. Wilder thanks his correspondent for their letter and interest in his work and also sends 'many thanks for the friendly work you have done and are doing among men and women in my own age group (I am 78)', further remarking 'I'm especially pleased that you have - wilingly (sic) or unwillingly - spread about copies of The Ides of March. It is one of my favourites'. Accompanied by the original envelope hand addressed by Wilder and signed ('T N Wilder') by him in the return address panel to the verso. VG
