PETER II: (1715-1730) Emperor of Russia 1727-30. An extremely rare L.S., Peter, one page, small 4to, Moscow, 20th November 1729, to Ferdinand Albert II, Duke of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, in German. The Emperor writes on the occasion of having received news of the birth of his correspondent's daughter, Juliana Maria of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel. Autographs of Peter II are extremely rare in any form as a result of his untimely death from smallpox at the young age of 14 (just two months after signing the present letter).
