[FLIGHT TO VARENNES DECREES]: Selection of printed original decrees related to King Louis XVI attempt of escape in June 1791, one to seven pages, 4to, dated June to August 1791, in French. The contemporary printed decrees include one dated 21st June 1791 stating `The national Assembly will issue decrees, and until further orders, they will be countersigned and executed by Ministers, and Minister of Justice will have to add the State seal, not being necessary the acceptance of the King.´ on a further decree dated 29th June 1791 related to the King´s heir and the Governor in charge of the education of future King Louis XVII, saying `..The Governor will swear at the National Assembly that he will protect the life and health of the Heir..The National Assembly will approve by decree, and will unceasingly supervise, the system of moral and political education of the presumptive Heir.´ VG, 5 £80-100
