COOPER JACKIE: (1922-2011) American child actor, an Academy Award nominee. An excellent, rare vintage signed and inscribed sepia 8 x 10 photograph of the young Cooper in a profile head and shoulders pose in costume as the feisty Skippy Skinner from the comedy film Skippy (1931). Signed by Cooper as a juvenile in bold black fountain pen ink with an inscription to Bing Crosby, 'To Bing, your (sic) a great “singer”, Best wishes always, Jackie Cooper', also adding his character name Skippy in his hand beneath his signature. It was for his performance in this role that Cooper, aged nine, became the youngest person to earn an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. A wonderful signed portrait with excellent association.
