BERGMAN INGRID: (1915-1982) Swedish actress, Academy Award winner for Best Actress in 1944 for her role as Paula Alquist Anton in Gaslight and again in 1956 for her role as Anna Koref/Anastasia in Anastasia. An exceptionally fine vintage signed and inscribed 7 x 9 photograph of Bergman in a pensive head and shoulders pose in costume from her Oscar winning performance as Paula Alquist Anton, niece of the murdered world-famous opera singer Alice Alquist, from the psychological thriller film Gaslight. Signed by Bergman in blue fountain pen ink with a warm inscription to screenwriter Walter Reisch, 'To Walter - from his sad Paula and happy Ingrid Bergman' and dated 1945 in her hand. Walter Reisch (1903-1983) Austrian-born film director and screenwriter who co-wrote the screenplay for Gaslight alongside John Van Druten and John L. Balderston. The three received an Oscar nomination for Best Screenplay fin recognition of their work on the film.
