One of the finest signed photographs of The Little Tramp in existence
CHAPLIN CHARLES: (1889-1977) English film comedian, Academy Award winner. A very fine vintage signed sepia 8 x 10 photograph, the excellent image showing Chaplin standing in a full-length pose in costume as the Little Tramp in a scene from his 1928 film The Circus. Boldly signed in dark fountain pen ink across a light area at the base of the image with a perfect example of his signature, 'With best wishes, Sincerely, Charlie Chaplin'. An extremely rare and desirable signed image. Some very light, minor silvering to the right edge of the image and minor age wear to the plain borders, VG
The Circus (1928) is the seventh highest grossing silent film in cinema history. Chaplin was presented with a Special Academy Award in 1928 for 'acting, writing, directing and producing' the film
