GALBRAITH JOHN KENNETH: (1908-2006) Canadian-American economist, diplomat and intellectual. T.L.S., J. K. Galbraith, one page, slim 4to, Cambridge, Massachusetts, 6th November 1995, to Judy White and her students, on Galbraith's personal printed stationery from Harvard University. Galbraith writes to provide his preliminary thoughts on the interesting matters his correspondent's raise, stating, in part, 'I was much influenced in my thinking by a great succession of economists including: Adam Smith, John Stuart Mill and John Maynard Keynes…..The highlight of my life came rather early during World War II when I organized and was in charge of the Price Control Policy of the war time years. I think it is because of this step that we do not remember that time as one of serious inflation. But I have also enjoyed my years as Ambassador to India and of course, my years at Harvard and the opportunity, particularly for writing, that it has accorded'. A letter of interesting content. EX
