PAHLAVI MOHAMMAD REZA: (1919-1980) Shah of Iran 1941-79. Mohammad Reza was the last Shah of Iran and last Monarch of the House of Pahlavi, overthrown by the Iranian revolution of 1979. The Shah died in exile in Egypt a year and a half after leaving Iran. An excellent signed 7 x 9 photograph by the Shah, the image depicting the Monarch in a half length formal pose, wearing his gala uniform with decorations. Signed in bold blue ink `M. R. Pahlavi«, dated beneath `25th June 1959« in his hand, to the upper left clear corner of the image. The photograph is very attractively framed in silver, with engraved ornaments, bearing at the head a gilt Persian crowned coat of arms, and glazed to an overall size of 10 x 12. VG £1500-2000
