GREENE GRAHAM: (1904-1991) English novelist. T.L.S., Graham, one page, 8vo, n.p. (the envelope postmarked at Tonbridge, Kent, although the letter on the printed stationery of La Residence des Fleurs at Antibes), 17 ^th December 1985, to Tadeusz Murek. Greene writes, in full, ‘I enclose a letter which I received on returning from Central America from the Swiss Embassy in Paris. I hope my intervention has helped’. Together with the letter referred to, being a T.L.S. by a representative of the Swiss Departement Federal de Justice et Police, one page, 4to, Berne, 5 ^th December 1985, to Graham Greene, in French. The letter concerns the Polish nationals Tadeusz Murek and his wife, Maria, and states, in part, ‘Nous avons l'honneur de vous informer que Monsieur Murek a demande la revision de la decision rendue, sur recours, par notre departement le 17 octobre 1985. Notre service procede actuellement a l'instruction de cette demande de revision qu'il examinera avec toute l'attention requise par les circonstances particulieres du cas’ (Translation: ‘We have the honour to inform you that Mr. Murek has requested a review of the decision rendered, upon appeal, by our department on 17^th October 1985. Our department is currently investigating this request for review which it will examine with all the attention required by the particular circumstances of the case’).
