MATSUO KUNI: (1899-1975) Japanese journalist, writer and translator. Autograph statements signed, in Japanese and Roman script ( ‘Kuni Matsuo’), one page, 4to, n.p., December 1936, in Japanese and French. The head of the page is titled Maximes de vie des grands écrivains contemporains (Translation: ‘Life maxims of great contemporary writers’) in the hand of a researcher and immediately beneath Matsuo has penned several lines of text, first in Japanese and followed by French, ‘Le bonheur a mon avis n'existe que pendant de petits moments dans les petits faits de notre vie quotidienne’ (Translation: ‘Happiness in my opinion only exists during small moments in the small facts of our daily life’).
