SARKAR JADUNATH: (1870-1958) Bengali historian and a specialist on the Mughal dynasty. Autograph statements, unsigned, one page, oblong 8vo, n.p., n.d. The head of the page is titled Maxims of Life of the Authors of the whole world in the hand of a researcher, Sarkar adding a few biographical details below ( ‘author of Aurangzib…..Honorary Member of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland, Vice-Chancellor of the Calcutta University’) in his hand, and immediately beneath penning two statements, ‘1. Nothing great or lasting can be created by fraud or trickery. 2. No true work or creation can ever perish in this world’. VG
