SOULAGES PIERRE: (1919- ) French Painter and Engraver. A.L.S., `Pierre´, two pages, 4to, n.p., n.d., in French. In his usual large writing and in bold black ink, Soulages explains why they could not meet in Paris and further refers to some art collections, stating in part `Chers amis, nous n´avons pas eu la chance de vous avoir au téléphone à notre court passage à Paris. Peut-être aurons-nous la joie de vous voir bientôt ici? Merci des trois volumes de miroirs de l´art, cette collection s´annonce pleine díntérêt et ce qui en a été publié laisse bien augurer du succès qu´elle aura...´ (Translation: " Dear friends, we did not have the chance to have you on the phone during our short visit to Paris. Perhaps we will have the joy of seeing you here soon? Thanks for the three volumes of Miroirs de l´Art, this collection promises to be full of interest and what has been published augurs well for the success it will have... ." VG
