GARBO GRETA: (1905-1990) Swedish-American actress, the recipient of an Honorary Academy Award. D.S., Greta Garbo, being a signed cheque, n.p. (New York), 10th November 1960. The partially printed cheque, completed in typescript, is drawn on the Chase Manhattan Bank and made payable to Claire Koger for the sum of $60. Signed by Garbo in bold green ink, her signature only very slightly affected by a few light bank cancellations. VG
Claire Koger worked for Garbo for over thirty years as a housekeeper, aide and confidante. Her signature appears in the form of an endorsement to the verso of the present cheque.
