CAPIS, Giovanni (ca. 1550-1610) - Varon Milanes de la lengua de Milan, e Prissian de Milan de la parnonzia milanesa. Stampà de noùu. Milan: Giovanni Giacomo Como libraro, 1606. Second edition of this dictionary of Milanese dialect first published by Bartoli in Pavia (of which there is no trace). This edition contains also the Prissian de Milan dedicated to the pronunciation of the dialect. The work is extremely important not only for its linguistic aspects but also for the description of the current times. An edition will follow in 1750. 12mo (138 x 89mm). Woodcut portrait on title, initials (without final blank, slightly cropped at upper margin). Modern vellum.
