Pierre Alechinsky
1927 Brussels - lives and works in Bouvigal - "Ouverture et finale" - Aquatint etching/paper. 34/75. 24.6 x 20 cm, 50.5 x 39.3 cm, 56 x 44 cm (dimensions w. frame). Signed r. u.: Alechinsky. Framed under glass. Minimally browned in margins. Belgian painter, draughtsman and graphic artist. Studied at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture et des Arts Décoratifs in Brussels from 1944 to 1948. Alechinsky turned to painting in 1946 and joined the COBRA group in 1949.
