Collection of handwritten amulets for protection, healing and segula.
The collection includes: * Paper amulets designed to be rolled and carried on the body. * Parchment amulet for guarding * "Know what is above you" - square piece of parchment, with floral decoration, containing various verses in the shape of a house with an eye set above it * Amulet for guarding and "for charm and attraction in the eyes of all beholders", with text in the shape of a Star of David. * Parchment stencil aid for the drawing of a menorah (used in the creation of amulets). * Fragments of amulets and leaves from books of Segulot.
The reverse of one of the papers contains the inscription: "for R. Ben-Zion Chazan and his family" [R. Ben-Zion Chazan (1877-1952) was a student of the Ben Ish Chai and rabbi of the Old City of Jerusalem. He established and headed the Porat Yosef and Shoshanim LeDavid Yeshivot]. It is possible that several of the amulets were written by him.
Included: two printed amulets.
