Four Imaginary Pseudo-Ancient Coins
Four imaginary pseudo-ancient coins showing Biblical and Roman influence. [Europe, 18th-19th centuries].
1. Silver coin. Obverse: ancient seal and the Hebrew words "Eretz Israel" and "King Solomon". Reverse: illegible Hebrew legend -"Third year"(?) and "Shekel"(?).
2. Silver coin. Obverse: Hebrew legend, "Jerusalem the holy city", with a castle. Reverse: Hebrew legend - "King David… King Solomon".
3. Coin. Obverse: Hebrew legend, "Solomon, son of David King of Israel", surrounding a Star of David. Reverse: Hebrew legend - "Vanity of vanities… (Ecclesiastes 1:2)" and "Holy Jerusalem".
4. Coin. Obverse: Hebrew legend - "King Saul". Reverse: Illegible Hebrew legend.
