Silver Medal - Calendar - Hamburg, 1804
Silver medal - calendar for the year 1804. Hamburg.
Obverse: table with the dates of the year's Sundays, with the Hebrew year - 5565. Around the table are the dates of various holidays, including Jewish holidays. Reverse: closing times of the gates of the city of Hamburg.
The medal was issued by the merchant Jobst Schramm from Hamburg, who commissioned it from the Jewish medalist Abraham Abramson. The inclusion of Jewish dates in the calendar reflects the status and importance of Jewish merchants in Hamburg at the time.
