Arvei Nachal, a wonderful work on the Torah, by Rabbi David Shlomo Eibeschitz Av Beit Din of Sorocza. Sudilkovo, [between 1825-1836]. First edition. Unidentified signatures on leaf margins.
First edition of a basic book on Chassidism. Its author, Rabbi David Shlomo Eibeschitz (1855-1914, Encyclopedia L'Chassidut, 1, pages 501-503), a great Chassidic leader and rabbi, Rabbi of Sorocza. In 1809, immigrated to Eretz Israel, to Safed, where he is buried. In his approbation, his relative Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berdichev writes about him "sharp and proficient in Torah like one of the Rishonim and all his deeds are for the sake of Heaven". He wrote many works, including his famous halachic book Levushei Srad.
