Uma Karuna Thurman (Boston, April 29, 1970) is an American actress, nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1995.
She is particularly known for her portrayal of Mia Wallace in Quentin Tarantino's cult film Pulp Fiction, for which she received a nomination for the 1995 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, as well as nominations for the Golden Globes, BAFTA Awards, David di Donatello and Screen Actors Guild Awards. She also worked with Tarantino on Kill Bill, divided into Kill Bill: Volume 1, in 2003, and Kill Bill: Volume 2 in 2004, films that earned her a BAFTA nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role and two Golden Globe nominations for Best Actress in a Drama Film. For The Eyes of Life she won the 2003 Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Mini-Series or Film Made for Television.
