Vittorio Domenico Stanislao Gaetano Sorano De Sica (Sora, 7 July 1901 – Neuilly-sur-Seine, 13 November 1974) was an Italian actor, director and screenwriter. Among the most influential filmmakers in the history of cinema, he was also a theater actor and documentary filmmaker. He is considered one of the fathers of neorealism and one of the greatest directors and performers of Italian comedy.
His films "Sciuscià", "Bicycle Thieves", "Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow" and "The Garden of the Finzi-Continis" won the Oscar for best foreign language film, an award for which "Marriage at the Italian".
