SOPHIA LOREN - TWO PHOTOS WITH TWO ENVELOPES
Sophia Loren, pseudonym of Sofia Costanza Brigida Villani Scicolone (Rome, September 20, 1934), is an Italian actress with French citizenship.
She entered the seventh art at a very young age and made her mark in the early 1950s, thanks to her roles in comedies such as Bread, Love and... and in films such as A Husband for Cinzia and The Bay of Naples. She was directed in 1960 by Vittorio De Sica in "Two Women", for which she won an Oscar. In 1991, she was awarded an honorary Oscar.
Other films of hers that have made the history of Italian cinema are A Special Day, Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow and Marriage Italian Style.
During her career, she was directed by, among others, Sidney Lumet, Charlie Chaplin, Martin Ritt, George Cukor, Henry Hathaway, Dino Risi, Mario Monicelli, Ettore Scola and Vittorio De Sica and acted alongside Marcello Mastroianni, Totò, Marlon Brando, Charlton Heston, Cary Grant, John Wayne, Clark Gable, Burt Lancaster, Paul Newman, Richard Burton, Gregory Peck, Frank Sinatra, William Holden and others. She has won numerous awards: in addition to two Academy Awards, five Golden Globe Awards, a Golden Lion, a Grammy Award, a Volpi Cup at the Venice Film Festival, a Prix at the Cannes Film Festival, a Golden Bear for Lifetime Achievement at the Berlin Film Festival, and was honored with a star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame.
In 1999, the American Film Institute ranked her twenty-first among the greatest actresses of American cinema of all time.
