Sylvester Enzio Stallone (New York, July 6, 1946) is an American actor, screenwriter, director, film producer, writer and painter, mainly known for his interpretation of two of the most iconic characters in the history of cinema, the boxer Rocky Balboa and the Vietnam War veteran John Rambo, protagonists of two popular film sagas that began with the films "Rocky" (1976) and "Rambo" (1982).

Also known for having personally shot most of his stunts in action films, in 2010 he created the film series The Expendables, created to pay homage to the action blockbusters of the eighties and nineties, in which he brought together old and new stars of action cinema, a film genre of which he was the undisputed star in the eighties and one of the most representative and most successful exponents of all time.

Stallone, nicknamed Sly, has tied his fame to the interpretation of characters who manage "to take revenge on an often closed and corrupt society, overcoming adversity and injustice thanks to their own willpower and physical strength". In 2015 he reprised the role of the boxer Rocky Balboa in the film "Creed", for which he won the Golden Globe for best supporting actor and was nominated for the 2016 Academy Awards in the category of best supporting actor, 39 years after the two nominations for the 1977 Academy Awards in the category of best actor and best original screenplay for the first Rocky.

Stallone has written and directed many of the films he has starred in. The films starring Stallone have exceeded a total gross of over 4 billion dollars. His name has been present among the celebrities of the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles since June 14, 1984.
