Bizarre surrealist lithograph on paper depicting a merman in 18th century style clothing and powdered wig above a woman with a feathered hat poking her head out of a bottle. Signed by artist in pencil in lower right corner; edition number written in lower left. Black matte border with gold finished frame. Mihail Chemiakin was born in Moscow in 1943 and was later exiled from Soviet Russia in 1971. Upon his return to post-Soviet Russia, he was commissioned by government officials to create monuments dedicated to Peter the Great, the Victims of Political Repressions, and the Architects and Builders of St. Petersburg. He also had monuments commissioned in France. Sight size: 21.25"W x 21.5"H; 25"W x 25"H x 1.25"D. Certificate of Authenticity included.
