Color lithograph IX from the series Carnaval de St-Petersbourg by nonconformist Russian painter and sculptor Mihail Chemiakin. He has represented a Commedia dell'arte acrobat who holds a lit bomb in equilibrium on his feet as his derriere faces a religious figure sprouting from the soil. The sun/moon looks unamused by the politically charged scene. Signature on the lower right: M. Chemiakin. Numbered on lower left: 26/275.
