Rene Avigdor, Oil on Board, Portrait of a Rabbi, Signed
Original oil on board by 19th century French artist Rene Avigdor who represents a Rabbi reading the Torah. Avigdor depicts the Rabbi with layers of thick impasto applied with a palette knife in layers of whites and blues to contrast with his skin. This painting is similar in its intimacy to Avigdor's expressive Portrait of Auguste Rodin, held at the sculptor's Museum in Paris. Frame size: 17"L x 20.50"H x 1.50"W. Artwork dimensions: 13.25"L x 17"H.
