An interesting letter regarding the permissibility of using spirit that was in the possession of a Jew over Passover (published in Even Yekara, II:8)

Rabbi Binyamin Aryeh Hacohen Weiss, son of Rabbi Chaim Tzvi of Yanov, and disciple of Yitzchak Ahron Ettinger of Lviv and Rabbi Meshulam Yissachar of Stanislau. Adherent of Rabbi Yitzchak Eisek of Zidatshov. Rabbi of Knihinicz (1864) and Chernowitz (1872). Leading halachic authority and author of Even Yekara (3 vols.) as well as many manuscript works.

Rabbi Yosef Schwartz son of Rabbi Naftali Schwartz of Mad, ordained by Rabbi Moshe Grunwald of Chust and Rabbi Shalom Mordechai Schwadron of Brzezany. Son-in-law of Rabbi Elazar Chaim Deutsch of Hanshowitz and Bonyhad. Prolific author and editor of rabbinic works, and principally of the famous Hungarian rabbinic journal Vayelaket Yosef (1899-1917).
