Grande vaso in ceramica

Il vaso raffigura dei guerrieri al centro e intorno sono applicati dei medaglioni in ceramica intagliati a forma di fenici. Ai lati si trovano due manici a forma di testa di mostro che portano in bocca due anelli. Sul coperchio è presente un saggio in ginocchio. Il supporto su cui poggia è anch’esso in ceramica e presenta gli stessi motivi del vaso.
A large ceramic pot
Japan, 19th century

Well molded and decorated resting on its pedestal, it depicts warriors in the centre and around it are applied ceramic medallions carved in the shape of phoenixes. On either side are two monster-head shaped handles carrying two rings in their mouths. The lid culminates in a kneeling sage. The ceramic support on which it rests also features the same motifs as the vase.
