Gian Domenico Porta (San Maurizio d'Opaglio 1722 - Roma 1780) Ritratto di Papa Pio VI Olio su tela polilobata 145 x 112 cm Sulla lettera in mano al Pontefice si legge il mittente: Paolo Zignago o Zignego (molto probabilmente committente dell'opera). L'opera trova preciso riscontro con il ritratto firmato da Porta, conservato al Musée National du Chateau de Versailles. L'aspetto più anziano e affilato del volto di Pio VI ed il colore diverso della stola precisano il fatto che si tratti di una versione posteriore a quella conservata in Francia. The artwork is an exact correspondence with the portrait signed by Porta, conserved at the Musée National du Chateau de Versailles. The older and sharper look of Pius VI's face and the different color of the stole clarify the fact that it is a later version than the one preserved in France.
