Queste tavole, tipiche del Quattrocento, un tempo decoravano i soffitti di chiese e palazzi dell'area padana lombarda. Tra i più importanti esponenti di questa espressione pittorica ricordiamo le botteghe di Bonifacio Bembo e Vincenzo Civerchio. Le tavole provenienti dal Castello di San Martino di Gusnago sono conservate sia al Victoria and Albert Museum di Londra, sia al Metropolitan Museum di New York. Altri dipinti sono conservati nei musei milanesi Poldi Pezzoli e Castello Sforzesco.

These panels, typical of the 15th century, once decorated the ceilings of churches and palaces in the Po Valley area of ??Lombardy. Among the most important exponents of this pictorial expression, we remember the workshops of Bonifacio Bembo and Vincenzo Civerchio. The panels from the Castle of San Martino di Gusnago are preserved both at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and at the Metropolitan Museum in New York. Other paintings are preserved in the Milanese museums Poldi Pezzoli and Castello Sforzesco.
