Ole Hansen (1925-1988) lived in Denmark and was known as the “King of Tattooists” as well as the “Tattooist of Kings”. It is said that Ole Hansen went to sea at the young age of 14 and began tattooing shortly afterwards. During the Second World War, he fought in Europe and North Africa and tattooed there with portable equipment. In 1947, Ole bought one of the oldest tattoo stores in the world - the already famous No.17 Nyhavn in Copenhagen. It is said that tattoos have been done in this place for 100 years. Ole spent 40 years in this store and during this time became a respected and popular artist, as well as building his own tattoo machines, which had many unusual features.
