Матэ Василий Васильевич (1856-1917) — известный художник и педагог, выдающийся мастер репродукционной гравюры конца XIX столетия. Искусству гравюры В. В. Матэ учился в Рисовальной школе при Обществе Поощрения Художеств у Л. А. Серякова и в Академии художеств у Ф. И. Иордана (с 1875 по 1880).
