Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum Dept. 56 Birdhouse
Includes a Department 56 birdhouse Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum Alice in Wonderland series design by Christopher Blake. Stands 11"h and just over 10"w. Original tag still attached. The tag reads: "The renowned American wood sculptor, Christopher Blake, has authorized for the first time, the reproduction of his works by Department 56, Inc. Christopher comes from a lineage of carousel horse sculptors and was raised with a unique appreciation for the subtleties of fine woodcarving. He compliments his original forms with unique finishes that suggest they have been weathered for many years. The actual carving is used to make a mold, then each piece is reproduced in cold caste porcelain to capture every detail of the original. Elaborate hand-painted finishes are applied to recreate the distressed antique look that is considered trademark Christopher Blake. Each piece evokes a feeling of a long-loved and lost treasure newly rediscovered in the attic." Wooden perch is missing from characters' outstretched hands.
