A French pair of ivory plaques - 1845, Cubizola
high-reliefs carved elephant ivory plaques (Loxodonta africana Blumenbach, 1797 o Elephas maximus Linnaeus, 1758) depicting a a male’s head facing right and a female’s head facing left. Wooden frames. Signed and dated “Cubizola 1845”. Dimensions 38.5 x 29 cm, ivory plaques 14 x 10 cm. Certificate of antiquity (pre-1947).
