[PESTE] - BESTA, Giacomo Filippo (seconda metà XVI secolo) - Vera narratione del successo della peste che afflisse l'inclita città di Milano, l'anno 1576. Milan: Giovan Battista Bidelli, 1630. Second edition published during the Milanese plague of 1630. The work first appeared in 1578 describing the terrible plague of 1576 and the measures put in place such as the interdiction of the public dances, the quaratene sites at the cities' edges and the checks carried on the food brought into the city. 8vo (142 x 84mm). Woodcut device on title, initials and headpieces (occasional small marginal tears, some light spotting and staining, without final blank). Modern vellum, manuscript title on spine, contemporary manuscript title on bottom fore-edge, preserved in a modern marbled paper case.
