First and only of this rare work on the Archimedean screw and other irrigation devices. 4to (201 x 146mm). Woodcut device on title, 4 double-page or folding woodcuts, illustrations, initials and headpieces (waterstaining at beginning, occasional browning, a marginal tear to a plate and some other edges frayed). Contemporary boards, manuscript title on spine (some staining and spine chipped). Provenance: Giuseppe Cavedi (ownership inscription on title and underline - erased ownership inscription.
