Bergamo: Comino Ventura, 1588. A renowned treaties on food and drinks published for the first time two years earlier by the doctor Durante. Of particular interest are the final chapters dedicated the first to seasoning and the second to wine. It is specified which wine is best to drink against the plague depending on if you are rich or poor. 4to (188 x 141mm). Printer's device on title, woodcut headpieces and initials (some waterstaining and few other lighter stains, few minor marginal tears, final leaf repaired at bottom corner). Later boards, manuscript title no spine (some staining and chipping). Provenance: V.A. (bookplate).
