MAGGI, Girolamo (ca. 1523 - 1572) - Della fortificatione delle città. Venice: Rutilio Borgominiero, 1564. First edition of this renowned treatise on fortifications by Girolamo Maggi. Folio (351 x 252mm). Large printer's device on title and at end, woodcut headpieces and initials, numerous woodcut illustrations in text, some large, other double-page (removed stamp on title, some soiling, staining, spotting and occasional browning, final leaf repaired at top margin). Early vellum applied on modern vellum (lacking ties, some light wear).
