Neruda, Pablo. "Tentativa del hombre infinito". 1st edition. Santiago de Chile. Published by Nascimento, 1926.

25 pages. 20 x 20 cm.
Signed dedication by Pablo Neruda in black ink: “Para Alfredo Condon con decidida simpatía Pablo Neruda, Paris, julio, 1927.” In the lower corner is a signature in the same pen “Marie Luise” who is presumed to be the poet’s girlfriend, though she is not mentioned in his memoirs. Original first edition. Alfredo Condon was a Chilean writer and diplomat. He was the secretary of his country’s embassy in Spain. He was close to Neruda, for whom he handled paperwork related to publishing. He collaborated on the Literary magazines Bolívar and La Gaceta Literaria (see page 171 of the diccionario de las vanguardias, by Manuel Bonet). Half bound in Valencian board, hubbed with a double spine label.
