- Catalogue of the IV Biennial of Latin American prints: Santiago de Chile, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, 7 August to 13 September 1970. 1st edition. Santiago de Chile. IV Bienal Americana de Grabado, 1970. 19 x 18 cm.
Autograph in green ink by Pablo Neruda under a rare poem of his which cannot be found in his bibliography, but can be found in the introduction of this catalogue and is also reproduced in the set of prints which are included. The catalogue contains the invitation/programme of the IV Bienal with a poem handwritten in blue ballpoint pen and signed as “Pablo Neruda”, although it is not certain that this signature is original. There is also a set of 7 original prints signed by the artists: Nemesio Antúnez, Roser Bru, S. Chambelland, Pedro Millar, Eduardo Vilches, Mele Bruniard and Antonio Frasconi. Catalogue of the IV Bienal Americana de Grabado (IV Biennial of Latin American prints), of which five hundred copies were printed. This is copy number 106 of the first 110, which was a special print run, which includes the set of 7 original prints signed by the artists: Nemesio Antúnez, Roser Bru, S. Chambelland, Pedro Millar, Eduardo Vilches, Mele Bruniard and Antonio Frasconi. In this set, the same text by Neruda which is used as the introduction to the catalogue appears, but it also includes the signature handwritten in green ink by the Chilean poet. The cover is illustrated with an original composition by Josef Albers, expressly designed by the artist for this Biennial. The vignette which illustrates Pablo Neruda’s text is a xylograph by Pedro Millar printed with the original relief. There is handwriting in blue ballpoint pen, signed “Pablo Neruda”, although it is not clear if this is original. In very good condition.

Dedication and autograph handwritten in green ink on the cover of the catalogue: poem “Arte de pájaros.” On the half cover is an autograph signature by Pablo Neruda in green ink and one in blue ink by the illustrator Mario Toral. First edition. Catalogue of the exhibition of the IX Biennial of Modern Art of Sao Paulo, 1967. Chile’s participation in the Biennial included paintings, prints, drawing and graphic art. Among these last was Neruda’s book “Arte de pájaros” with illustrations by Nemesio Antúnez, Carreño, Herrera and Toral.
