A RUSSET-BROWN-GLAZED CERAMIC WATER SPRINKLER, KUNDIKA
China, Liao dynasty
Standing on a circular foot, the ovoid body rising to a long ribbed cylindrical neck, on the shoulder a short curved tubular spout, the lower zone of the body with moulded and carved opulent peonies, a band of lappets on the shoulder, the external surface covered with a thick russet-brownish glaze, the base unglazed.
