Christ Child is represented as the Salvator Mundi, seated in the clouds bathed in the splendor of golden light, his left hand resting on the Orbe Terrarum. The Child looks directly at the observer and raises his right hand as a sign of blessing. On both sides of Christ, two cherubs hold the symbols of his Passion, the Crown of Thorns and the nails of the Cross. The subject of Christ Child as Redeemer was widespread in Neapolitan painting of the late seventeenth century, such as in the works of Mattia Preti and Luca Giordano, as well as the work in question, that can also be attributed to the same school.

State of conservation: good, relined, the ultraviolet ray observation reveals color retouching distributed almost everywhere; framed.
