Acrylic on paper Woman with Hat, Luciano Castelli (1951, Lucerne, Switzerland). Cm 71x51.Signed on the lower right. "One of the most important artists of the Bohemian Bohemian of Lucerne in the 70s. Castelli's artistic production is vast and varied, ranging from photography, graphics and painting, considered one of the representatives of neo-expressionist painting. From 78 to 90 he moved to Berlin, and became one of the "Junge Wilde", an important neo-expressionist artistic movement. In the following years, the artist experimented with new painting techniques through the use of a homemade darkroom, developing rotating paintings, which can be rotated up to 360°. Depending on how they are hung, the painting shows the viewer new faces, bodies, or city views. In Castelli's works are represented intimate and personal moments that the artist brings back through bright and contrasting colors, typical of his painting. The painting in question was auctioned in 2006 by Metropol, a Swedish auction house. It shows the use of a psychedelic color scheme, in contrast with the black stroke of the brush, which decisively outlines the figure of the face depicted. This pictorial device is used to emphasize the intensity of the moment, and alter the viewer's perception".
