Engraving, dry point, Salvator Rosa (Naples 1615-Rome 1673) depicting man with stick and two people sitting in one of his shoulders. Monogram on the left. From "Different figures."
Etching from copper plate, mm140x90. Inches frame mm 265x180. Excellent copper engraving printed in coeval paper, II state. The collection of "Different figures" is undoubtedly the most famous graphic work of Salvador Rosa, along the era considered a model for young artists and in it are held topics already covered by many engravers like Callot, The Beautiful and Liagno. A letter to his friend Ricciardi, dated 1656, can be dated with certainty this series of figurines. 61 incisions models exist, subsequently brought to 72. ASORstudio.
