Pair of still lifes with triumph of flowers nineteenth century
nineteenth century
Technique: oil paintings on canvas
Dimensions: 70 x 105 cm
This is a late copy (19th century) of two still lifes ascribable to an 18th century Neapolitan School painter. The prototype could be found in the paintings of Nicola Casissa (? - Naples 1731), pupil of the Belvedere, who configures a space imbued with rocaille lightness, easily recognizable in the two paintings presented here. The hand that produced these two late copies confirms the decorative style while retaining a good pictorial quality, but largely loses those effects of light and color, usual for the Neapolitan Rococo generism of the mid-18th century.
