Cartier. Raffinato e rarissimo orologio da viaggio in oro giallo 18K, con apertura azionata da zaffiri cabochon. Modello classificato all’epoca dalla Maison Cartier come ‘Montre sac or’ e ‘Modello sportivo’. Quadrante con numeri romani, lancette Breguet. Movimento realizzato da European Watch and Clock Co. Inc. Cassa finemente incisa a bande alterne, ad effetto tessuto. La European Watch and Clock Company Incorporated nacque negli anni ’20 come joint venture tra Cartier ed Edmond Jaeger, della celebre Jaeger-LeCoultre. Anche se Cartier continuò la propria collaborazione con altri produttori di movimenti di qualità, come Vacheron Constantin, Audemars Piguet e Movado, molti dei pezzi di più alta gamma montarono movimenti firmati European Watch and Clock Company, che venivano realizzati presso gli atelier della Jaeger-LeCoultre di Le Sentier, in Svizzera. La European Watch and Clock Company Inc nacque, infatti, con il solo scopo di produrre movimenti destinati ad essere utilizzati nei pezzi di più alta gamma di Cartier. This model was presented by Maison Cartier as ‘Montre sac or’ or ‘Sports model’. Dial with Roman numerals, Breguet style hands. Movement manufactured by European Watch and Clock Co. Inc. The case is finely engraved with a cross-striped pattern, with a textile look. European Watch and Clock Co. Incorporated was founded in the 1920s as a joint venture between Cartier and Edmond Jaeger, of Jaeger-LeCoultre. Even if Cartier still used quality movements from other makers, like Vacheron Constantin, Audemars Piguet and Movado, many of the highest quality items included European Watch and Clock Co. Incorporated movements, which were manufactured in the workshops of Jaeger-LeCoultre, at Le Sentier in Switzerland. European Watch and Clock Co. Incorporated was created, indeed, with the intention of producing exclusive mechanisms for the best Cartier watches.
