ROYAL DOULTON Large 19cm CHARACTER JUG "GEORGE WASHINGTON" D6669 1982/94 (black hat and coat, beige shirt). Designed by Stanley J. Taylor (Marked 2nds)
(As commander-in-chief of the American States, George Washington (1732 – 1799) led them to victory in the War of Independence. In 1789 he became the first President of the United States, governing for two terms until 1797. This jug was issued to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Washington’s birth.)
