Japanese ivory okimono - Meiji - Taishō period early 20th Century; ; carved elephant ivory (Elephas maximus Linnaeus, 1758 or Loxodonta africana Blumenbach, 1797) depicting a Nō-theatre masks street vendor; the term nō 能 means skill, talent and defines the most classic Japanese theatrical form. Height 13.5 cm, base 5.5 x 13 cm. Weight 205 gr. Item condition grading: **** good. Accompanied by Ce.S.Ar. Centro Studi Archeometrici certificate of antiquity (pre-1947).
